LET'S GO BACK TO BUCKROE! PHBA is taking the Parade of Homes to Buckroe! The April 2011 Parade will feature single-family homes, as well as tri-plex and four-plex mansion style homes. The entire development will be sustainable, green homes. This mid-priced beach community will feature homes with an average 2,400 square feet, and all will follow the City of Hampton's architectural guidelines for the area. There are plenty of marketing opportunities during the event such as sponsorships and booths in the Home Idea Center. PHBA's Annual SummerFest on July 14th was a huge success! Over 1,000 attendees came out to Williams Field at the Mariners' Museum to enjoy great food, cold beverages, games, and live music by the Crazy X Band. Kempsville Building Supply sponsored the always-popular, Nail-Driving Contest. Congratulations to the winners: Mens 1st Place - Eric Medhus, 2nd Place - Tony Domingo; Womens 1st Place - Margaret Hurst, 2nd Place - Kelly Beck. New to SummerFest this year, was the PAC Olympics. PAC Management Companies competed against each other, in "Olympic Games" sponsored by PAC Associate Members. PHBA, in conjunction with PRC, held its Annual Golf Tournament on May 20th, at Williamsburg National Golf Club. Mother Nature gave us a beautiful day, as 31 teams packed the Jamestown Course to see who would emerge victorious. In the end, it was the team from Mike Tyndall Enterprises (Mike Tyndall, Eddie Tyndall, Steve Forbes and Any Harris) that took first place, with the Grafton Station Apartments Team (Scott Ashe, Mark Ashe, Ken Early and Kevin Early) capturing second. Jason Noah, of AES Consulting Engineers, took the awards for both The Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin. PHBA's First Annual Dockside Seafood Fest on April 30th was a huge success! The sold-out event featured a great seafood dinner, open bar and live entertainment all night. PHBA Membership Meeting - Economic Forecast Our first Membership Meeting of 2010 was held on January 28th, at the Omni Newport News. Bob Denk, form the National Association of Home Builders was here to give an in-depth report on what we can expect for the coming year. Greg Garrett, Greg Garrett Realty, also gave a presentation on the trends in the housing and real estate market in this area.
